Strip HTML tags, decode entities, preserve readable line breaks, inspect links, and copy clean plain text from pasted markup.
Frequently asked questions
Does this Remove HTML Tags tool upload my HTML?
No. The cleanup happens in your browser, so the HTML does not need to be sent to a server for this tool to work.
Does it remove the text inside normal tags?
No. Text inside normal content tags is kept. The tool removes markup such as paragraph, div, span, strong, and link tags around the text.
What happens to script and style content?
Script, style, noscript, and template blocks are removed with their contents so code and CSS do not appear in the plain text result.
Does it decode HTML entities?
Yes. Entities such as ampersands, non-breaking spaces, quotes, and numeric entities are decoded by the browser parser before the result is shown.
Can it keep paragraph and list breaks?
Yes. Clean text keeps readable structure, and Keep line breaks preserves stronger breaks from paragraphs, headings, lists, and br tags.
Can I keep the links?
Yes. The Links result view lists anchor text and href values separately from the cleaned plain text.
Can it convert HTML to Markdown?
No. This tool is focused on readable plain text. A full HTML to Markdown converter would be a separate tool with different rules.
Can I copy only the cleaned result?
Yes. The Copy button copies whichever result view is active, either Cleaned or Links.
