Repeated occurrences of a keyword highlighted beside a percentage.

Keyword Density Checker

Check how often a target keyword or phrase appears in pasted text, compare exact phrase and any word modes, and copy a density summary.

Frequently asked questions

How does the keyword density checker work?

It counts the total words, counts matches for the keyword or phrase, then divides matches by total words to show a percentage.

Is there an ideal keyword density?

No fixed percentage guarantees a better result. This tool shows repetition clearly so you can review whether the wording still feels natural.

What is the difference between Exact phrase and Any word?

Exact phrase counts the full keyword text. Any word counts each unique word from the keyword field.

Does this upload my text?

No. The check runs in your browser, so the pasted text does not need to be sent to a server for this tool to work.

Why does time match timeline in my keyword results?

Turn on Whole word to exclude matches next to letters, numbers or underscores. With that option off, a target can also match inside a longer word.

Are Timer and timer counted together?

They are when Ignore case is on. Turn it off when capitalization is part of what you want to check, such as a case-sensitive label.

How is a multiword phrase percentage calculated?

Each full phrase occurrence is one match. Two occurrences in a 100-word draft produce 2%, even if the phrase contains several words. The percentage is matches divided by total words, not the fraction of words occupied by the phrase.
