Transparency needs a color
Transparent and partially transparent PNG pixels are composited onto your selected background. White is a practical starting point; a custom color can better match a page, slide, or card.

ONELESS · IMAGE LIGHT
Some upload forms accept JPEG while your image is a PNG. The conversion is straightforward until transparency enters the picture: JPEG cannot store transparent pixels. PNG to JPG makes that decision visible by letting you choose the background color before you create the new file.

UNDERSTAND THE RESULT
Transparent and partially transparent PNG pixels are composited onto your selected background. White is a practical starting point; a custom color can better match a page, slide, or card.
Format conversion preserves the image’s width and height. It does not crop the subject or silently scale the picture to achieve a smaller file.
JPEG can work well for photographs. Logos, screenshots, small type, and sharp graphics may look cleaner as PNG, especially when they need transparent edges.
HOW TO USE IT
EVERYDAY USES
Prepare a compatible copy for the destination while retaining the PNG source for later editing.
Match the JPEG background to the slide color so transparent parts do not unexpectedly turn into a white rectangle.
Compare the JPEG’s actual size with the original. A smaller file is useful only when its appearance remains suitable for the task.
YOUR IMAGE, YOUR DEVICE
The selected image is read and processed in this browser. This tool does not upload the file to a server or save it in browser storage. Choosing another file or leaving the tool releases its working images. Downloaded copies remain wherever your browser saves them.
Every change starts from the original image in memory. Export creates a new raster file; original EXIF, camera information, and embedded profile metadata are not copied. Browser decoding and color management can affect the result, so keep your original for archival work.
This release handles one file at a time, up to 25 MB, 16 megapixels, and 16,384 pixels on either side. Animated images are rejected rather than flattened to one frame. Browser encoding support can vary. A failed export shows an error and never leaves an outdated result ready to download. Read the site privacy policy for the surrounding website.
File sizes and limits use decimal units: 1 KB = 1,000 bytes and 1 MB = 1,000,000 bytes. Rounded labels are for readability; target checks compare exact bytes.
KEEP IT NEARBY
Bookmark this page with Ctrl + D on Windows or Command + D on a Mac. To make a desktop shortcut, use your browser’s shortcut or Add to Home Screen option when available. The shortcut opens the tool page; it does not include your image or settings.

Download a PNG or ICO if your device lets you customize shortcut icons.
QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
JPEG has no alpha channel. Every output pixel needs an opaque color, so transparent areas are filled with your chosen background before encoding.
No. Keep the PNG or use a transparency-capable format if the image needs to sit on different backgrounds.
No. The browser decodes the PNG, composites its pixels, and encodes a real JPEG. The output MIME type and dimensions are checked before download.
No. Simple or optimized PNG graphics can already be very small. The result area shows both file sizes so you can decide whether the conversion is useful.
Use # followed by six hexadecimal digits, for example #ffffff for white or #273b30 for dark green. Invalid values pause processing instead of exporting with an unexpected color.
Animated PNG is detected and rejected here to avoid silently saving only one frame. Use a still PNG for this conversion.
ANOTHER SMALL TASK?
Turn a PNG into a JPEG and choose the color behind transparent areas.
